How the hemming works
Come in wearing the shoes you will use with the trousers – that is the single best way to get the length right. We pin the hem to your measurements, then finish it to match the original construction of the garment, whether that is a machine-stitched hem, a blind hem or a cuff.
Prices and turnaround
Straight hemming starts at 25 €, jeans are 29 €, and lined trousers or trousers with vents cost a little more because of the extra work. Simple hemming is often ready the same day if you come in early; during busier periods the standard turnaround is about one week, and an express service is available for a 25% surcharge.
Why repair instead of replace the garment?
Repairing what you already own is the most effective way to cut the environmental impact of clothing. Every repaired garment is one less new item manufactured – and from 31 July 2026 the EU right-to-repair directive will make repair services an even more central part of everyday life in Finland. Ullastiina has repaired clothes in Helsinki since 1997, and our repair services carry the Finnish Key Flag (Avainlippu) mark of domestic work.

Do you also take in or let out trousers?
Yes – alongside hemming we take in the waist and legs, let seams out where there is fabric to work with, and adjust the overall fit.
