What a repair costs
Small repairs such as sewing on buttons start at 7 €, a zipper slider repair is 21 €, and a full jacket zipper replacement is 75 € including the new zipper. More extensive work is priced by the time it takes, at an hourly rate of 65 €. Send us a photo of the garment and we will give you an estimate before any work starts.
Materials we work with
We have experience with denim, leather, wool, knitwear, technical outdoor fabrics and fine textiles such as silk. Our laundry facilities include chemical washers, so delicate materials can be cleaned and treated properly before or after a repair.
Why repair instead of replace the garment?
Repairing what you already own is the most effective way to cut the environmental impact of clothing. Every repaired garment is one less new item manufactured – and from 31 July 2026 the EU right-to-repair directive will make repair services an even more central part of everyday life in Finland. Ullastiina has repaired clothes in Helsinki since 1997, and our repair services carry the Finnish Key Flag (Avainlippu) mark of domestic work.
Frequently asked questions
Can a hole be repaired invisibly?
Small holes can often be mended almost invisibly by hand-sewing or darning along the fabric structure. The result depends on the location, fabric and wear.
What does clothing repair cost?
Small repairs are affordable; larger jobs are priced by the work involved (hourly rate 65 €). Send us a photo of the garment and we will give you an estimate.
How long does a repair take?
Standard turnaround is about one week. For urgent jobs we offer an express service (+25% surcharge) – often ready the same day.
Do you repair leather and delicate materials?
Yes. We work with leather, wool, silk and technical fabrics, and our laundry includes chemical washers for materials that need special care.
Do I need an appointment?
For small repairs you can drop the garment off during opening hours. For custom work, evening wear and wedding dresses we recommend booking a time so we can assess the work with you.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards, as well as mobile payments such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
